Why do some people want PlayStation to buy Bluepoint games? Are they scared Bluepoint games might make a really good Xbox game one day or something and that would be bad? I don`t understand.
Maybe they`re worried that someone else might buy them and liquidate the company?
Agree with this. people believe that its a goal of every indie studio to be bought out by a platform maker/big publisher. That just doesn`t make sense. BP isnt running out of money, they are doing just fine remaining independent. let them continue to do great things.
I agree that Bluepoint SHOULD remain independent, but I also understand the fear of them being acquired. They port games very well, and not everybody wants to, or CAN, get old hardware easily to play old games.
If anything I don`t trust MS with them. They don`t have a great track record with studios and end up closing them down. I`d trust Sony over them if someone were to acquire them. Not to say Sony does better in not shutting down Dev teams but again I trust them more.

This is a really off-base projection. They could use more funding if they want to make a new IP or more ambitious remakes. Maybe an acquisition isnt necessary for that, but anyone else buying them isnt even a thought.
For me I would like to see Sony actually expand the studio. Not only have them continue to do remakes but also orignal IPs. Sony has always been willing to allow devs freedom to explore like w/ Death Stranding & Returnal. So potentially being bought allows them to take more risks
No I want them to not ever have to worry about funding. With sony having em they won`t have to for sure
Considering how talented they`ve shown they are I hope they get the opportunity to put that into a project of their own.

There also seems to be lots of people who think for some reason that Bluepoint would remake more PlayStation games if Sony bought them as opposed to the current situation which seems entirely unfounded. The ideal outcome of course is for Bluepoint to remain independent.
I think it`s valid considering EA, Ubisoft, and Activision are all likely candidates for buying Bluepoint if Sony doesn`t. Just my two cents though.
Im gonna be controversial here but I reckon PlayStation need bluepoint more than bluepoint need PlayStation, if that makes sense.
Because Bluepoint and Sony have found great success working together and because Sony needs to grow it`s first-party if they want to be ready for the future.
Yeah I don`t understand fan enthusiasm for platform holders buying studios and large publishers. The further monopolization of large gaming entities isn`t truly good for gamers; stability comes at a high price
Presumably these people own playstation consoles and want to continue enjoying Bluepoint games. Seems kinda straight forward enough I think.
My thoughts were always Sony has a long standing relationship with Bluepoint, if they were to buy another development company they seem like the most likely choice. Just like how Nintendo recently bought Next Level Games b/c they were on the market and made great Nintendo games.
Fanboys are idiots. Gaming is for everyone, not just the people who buy a specific box.
Don`t think its quite that way. They have had huge experience with PlayStation assets, have built relationships with the studios and creators from previous games etc. From Vita to last remakes have become more engrained, began to improve so would be a loss for both.
To make more amazing remakes for Sony? Makes sense to me.
That would make sense, consoles are expensive, having Devs you like in the ecosystem benefits that mindset
Sony has had a pretty close relationship with Bluepoint so its probably inevitable but it would be a shame considering how many good propertys Microsoft has especially now with them owning Bethesda and their legacy properties
because they really well handled remaking Sony Ip`s and people still want other remake from Sony`s portfolio
Based on exclusives going all the way back to the PS1, a long history between a platform and independant studio means far more than outright buying studios to make exclusives. Rare is a good example, their Nintendo games were great. When MS bought them the quality was nonexistent

Could be a Bayonetta type situation where they could get funding for a game that wouldnt exist without exclusivity? Then again this is the first time Ive heard anyone wanted them bought out
They make some great games. Amazon, Facebook, or Google acquiring them would not be good at all because they would probably want to change their vision
You`d expect Sony would have first right of refusal on a buyout, similar to Next Level Games. Not sure why anyone would care, if anything Bluepoint would go to them first if they were in trouble.
Why wouldnt you want Sony to buy out a second party studio they already have an amazing relationship with? Why you want google to get them?
I believe the thinking is that theyve remade and remastered a lot of PlayStation games so why not make it official?
Sony would totally do a better job in supporting them, in giving them the freedom to make what they want, but also, is Blupoint games that actually wanted to work with Sony in the first place
People are mostly afraid of aggressive Microsoft acquisitions, but I`d like Bluepoint to stay independent to work on other excellent game remakes.

Hell if Bluepoint could remake Gears of War 2 I wouldn`t complain.
Because ever since the Zenimax acquisition by MS, fanboys from both sides want their respective brand name to buy up all the remaining developers and studios.
Oh, so basically it`s "Someone is going to buy them, so PlayStation better do it before someone worse does?". Right. I dunno if that`s a valid concern, but who knows really.
I think the assumption is that Sony would give them even more support for their games than they do now. I think thats it, anyway.
