When you see the under-screen camera phone in the
When you see the under-screen camera phone in the second half of the year, you will suddenly realize and hope that Samsung S22 will not adopt it. Their selfie effects are far from the normal level.

Heres a hot take: bring back BEZELS and stop with this nonsense of 100% screen to body ratio

Why do you even have 175 likes? It`s literally not their main biometric and it`s only 2D.

And video calls

I understand that and I`m happy that they`re not adopting it just yet.

A hole is not a problem for me. Please if I have an unremoveable blur filter for my selfie cam, I won`t buy it.

One of these phone companies possibly (probably a Chinese one like Xiaomi) will have a punch hole that appears when you want to use the camera, and disappears when you`re not using it. (Unless they can get REALLY good with the underscreen technology). That`s what I`d like to see.

I guess having a slightly mushy camera won`t make face recognition impossible.

m die hard fan of but without doing any aggressive innovation and having same old notch design Apple is selling more flagship than any other company. Only adva. is that IOS is holding 1 company where Android is shared among ALOT. Samsung manage to beat the competitors.

Those selfielover are in just other level. Cellphone is for calling, texting, playing sometimes, take some photos and that`s it. Insane!

I`m happy with center punch hole camera of my S20+

No you don`t? Who uses face recognition?? Everyone uses fingerprints and even then not everyone cares for it

I honestly could care less about the hole punch so I`d take the best camera possible anyway

does this apply to magic 3? how bad are selfies?

Why even release it then? Fold isn`t an experimental Name anymore...

Idc if they completely remove the front camera

Don`t care, I barley use the front screen camera, it`s time for the punch hole to go.

Say to Samsung we dont care about selfie camera becaus every phone looks same on intsagram

glad though... I want the S22 Ultra to be an overall package and not half-baked.

UDC/UPC is not mature yet. It make sense to use in foldable phones because you have a 2nd self camera for better quality but you have only 1 selfie camera in normal phones.

see how big is Twitter`s revenue in Q2 I`ve had a camera phone for perhaps 15 years. I`ll be surprised if I`ve taken 20 selfies.

always ahead of the curve

But the fold can use the back camera as the front. So a camera on the inside screen is useless.

Bold of you to assume that the same UDC as Z Fold 3 will be used in S22 series lol.

Who is even asking for this? Who really wants an under the screen camera? This one is dumb. I can see this technology maybe being used for something else in the far future.

We could have phones with no front camera at all, but rather super powerful main camera(s) and good hybrid structured light and ToF 3D sensors which can perform 3D face recognition. And a secondary display on the back bigger than the Mi 11 Ultra, like the Mi Mix 4.

Its fine. Not everyone has a dire need for a selfie camera. People also own tablets and laptops and other gear that can be used for video calls.

What about the UDC of the mix 4? Is the quality significantly worse from standard selfie cam?

This kind of put me off of buying the fold 3 now... I don`t care about selfies, but I do video call alot and if the quality is significantly bad, I will definitely not get it.

Funnily enough, Samsung patented a much better alternative : But they sadly probably never gonna use it anyway... Meanwhile, the pop up is a much better solution, and NO, it does NOT have wear, durability, fragility, water, dust, space or cost issues.

Only the inside camera is UDC right? The camera on the front should still be good enough for face ID?

Idk who uses selfie cams so id prefer that design

I 100% WANT them to use UDC. Im not a 14yr old girl on ticktock so the selfie cam means nothing to me. Totally would prefer a hole-less screen irrespective of selfie quality.

Why suddenly? We know it is not ready, we saw weak UDC last year. Prolly another two years from now.

I wish they hear our pray.

I don`t need a selfie camera so jokes on you. :D

I don`t take selfies I couldn`t care what it looks like

I have the fingerprint scanner

I prefer a smaller back screen for selfie and face recognition with a complete clean front screen (lift and flip phone)

no, we are good with fingerprint sensor

Already moderating the market....

Thank you for this tweet You changed my mind about the UDC

Lose/lose situation. You`ll complain if they didn`t have it and you`re complaining with them having it. Choose your poison

It`s all your fault. You leaksters have ruined it. You hyped the UDC at the dirst place and said that it`s gonna be groundbreaking, fantastic and it`s gonna be like a normal camera. Now you cone say that you`re not pleased with the camera results and that they`re not gonna be -

i am sure they wont until they perfect it to atleast 90-95 percent, they for sure wont

Surely finger print is better than face recognition?

I`d prefer better camera quality over a covered camera. Gaining that tiny bit of screen back seems like a small upside to losing camera quality. I think people complain way too much. The hole on the S21 series is so tiny.

We need under display camera phone

i need good selfie, me and my wife use it a lot

I hope they will adopt, or atleast make the hole really unnoticeable

I hope they hold off in implementing the under display camera until the tech is perfected.

Face recognition on Samsung is incredibly insecure. I`d never consider using it anyway.

I`ve never used the selfie camera in 8 years of owning a top flagship. No problem for me.

No I dont

The fact is that we`ll have to compromise on picture quality for obtaining a upgraded screen-to-body ratio on next Galaxy S Phone. Samsung has earned the title of Camera King after a long struggle and I think they`ll keep the hole punch for atleast next Galaxy S phone.

Not with good fp sensor and having to wear masks everywhere

Fingerprint beats face id

I dont use that either

I dont care for selfies. i want a screen without a hole in it.

I wish more phones would go with the pop up camera mech...so good tech.

So why put this new tech in a flagship phone? They have a plenty off cheaper phones to do it in.

As someone who barely uses the front camera, i can do with worse quality if it is well hidden.

I hope they didn`t do it on 22

As long as the screen isn`t too much affected by it i don`t care. I never take selfies
