InfoSec peeps, thoughts on this? Welcome it? Just anotherJune 27, 2021, 11:23 am InfoSec peeps, thoughts on this? Welcome it? Just another thing to have to secure? Well..... I definitely want to see *how* they implemented it, if it`s on a segregated kernel and filesystem (ie. really containerized) then it`s not *so* bad. Anything that isn`t that gets yeeted from my terminals. Im working under the assumption someone at Microsoft is scraping every tweet about Win11 for ideas We all know they cant release two passable OS in a row! The functionally for allowing and blocking Android apps exists within InTune, in an ideal world your Android policies would apply to whatever bastardised version of Android exists within window. Hopefully theres functionality to curate the store in the same way you can for the Windows App Store, but I can see the initial stance for most orgs being block it until theres a need for it As you say I just hope they make it easy! The first thing to be disabled in any environment deploying Windows 11! Would imagine there will be some sandboxing involved for the apps to keep the streams from crossing in critical places. Will be interesting to watch the good and bad that comes of it though... Probably right. MS rate of development is cool, but security is definitely and afterthought. Bit weird really as they took such a massive chunk of enterprise market in 90s precisely because they kept on top of granular control. Terrible for corporate environments but could enable MAM controlled apps on desktops for more controlled BYOD. Android malware, coming soon to a windows device near you |
