Via Jason`s reporting Kena Bridge of Spirits has already
Via Jason`s reporting Kena Bridge of Spirits has already made back its initial development costs The devs also state "Sony`s happy." Great to see a small studio finding success like this with their first game ever

Lol a kid`s game is a important release on PS5

I hope Returnal did too.. that game deserves a sequel or similar games.

I love hearing this! This is why I think its good to buy games (if you have the means to of course) you want to support when they release. Now we get another game from Ember Lab!

Its one helluva good effort for a first game so yeah, great to see that the makers are doing so well

Soon... The last time Sony was happy with a small success, they bought Housemarque.

Lmao Jason blocked me even though I haven`t commented under one of his tweets for more than a year. That guy is such a joke lol. Can`t take criticism and blocks everyone without a reason

I don`t see success nor failure. They are at zero, game development costs is paid, that`s all. However sales after month are declining rapidly and earnings are minimal compared to release week. The definitely need acquisition or sponsor for next game.

No doubt they have made back far more than just the development costs.

So happy to hear that KenaBridgeofSpirits has sold well enough for it to recoup development costs its such a beautiful game. I am double dipping and buying the physical copy next month as well. so congratulations to would love to know more of Kena`s backstory or sequel

Based on this article, it seems like they *enjoyed* making this game and actually want to keep going. Ive been obsessed with the art style in build-up, but havent been able to buy it due to the whole so many games, so little time thing. I hope to pick it up soon.

I don`t think it`s a good idea for days gone 2 when both the director`s have left the company.

Plus the main two leads left so I`m happy the team is moving on. Loved Days Gone but okay with a new IP from Bend

Gotta get a sequel. This is my best indie game this year, and should be nominated for its artistic design

Im happy Ember Labs did well on their first game and Kena was a great game. I doubt Sony will buy Ember Labs off one game but Im sure Sony will continue to work closely with Ember Labs in the future

Man, I wish I enjoyed it more. Regardless, I`m stoked to see the great news! Looking forward to whatever they do next.

Did Sony help fund the game?

Wait so a Sony funded game went day and date with the PC version.

Now just release the physical version so I can get in on that action!!

Great for Kena. and Damn u arent blocked by Shrier yet?

They should have a Psychical copy commercial when that release to boost the sales more

I have a feeling Sony will be coming for Emberlab next They deserve this so much!

Great I love this seeing black owned developers succeeding cant wait to see there next Project

Still wouldn`t rule out a second chance on that game, but it`ll probably go elsewhere. Maybe with Kouri in Las Vegas. Imagine ps5 hordes on the strip, lord

Congrats to them. It`s an enjoyable game that I need to go back and finish. It`s just tough seeing the little Epic store achievements pop up versus Xbox achievements.

I LOVE KENA Incredible game. Highly recommend it.

Don`t think I can name a single indie game Xbox helped make that had this much success, it`s because PLAYSTATION GAMERS BUY GAMES

Nice, I would assume if Sony wants they can acquire them. Not sure if Ember wants to go full exclusive or timed exclusive either way good news for the studio

That`s weird, I thought epic put some money on them since the game didn`t launch on steam. Oh well.

Awesome! So they dont have to worry about the physical release? I held back on the digital version since I hoped thered be a physical edition.

And it will get better. Some people (like me) are waiting for the physical release. If it was profitable wouldn`t that be good? How much % does Sony expect to greenlight a sequal? E.g: Like 50% higher than development cost?

Nice. Congrats to the first time devs!

I don`t think Sony were too thrilled with the critical reception either. They were on a run of critical and commercial hits and Days Gone kind of broke that run.

Amazing game. Only 2nd to Returnal for my favorite this year.

Curious how the Devs felt the need to mention Sony being happy about it. I understand Sony helped market the game, but there`s something running deeper there I think.

Ember Labs acquisition incoming

When a new studio comes out firing heat frame 1, it`s pretty cool to see. That`s just to say now they`ve earned my respect and trust and I look forward to their next project (: definitely gonna support em

Ahh I see . Thanks for the response.

Did days gone ever make back its development money benji?

Next adquisition? Don`t think so I think Epic funded this game right?

Not sure why so many people want this studio to be acquired

Ember Lab x PlayStation Studios

Sony will be smart to strike another deal with them and eventually been part of PlayStation studios. We will see but very happy to hear about there success and i want some more of Kena in the future.

No matter sales units ! If they are happy and gonna make another game, that`s huge W already

I am glad to see this game is profitable, its worth every single dollar! Ember Lab is a special studio and a perfect match for PlayStation studios.

Well it`s on PC also so yeah, glad to hear they did well

Sony wins!

Sony had NOTHING to do with this game.

Feel bad Im still waiting on the physical release then Ill join the party.

Thanks for summarizing Jason`s tweet because I`m pretty sure a lot of people won`t be able to see his tweet, including me.

It`s a great Game, beatiful and fun, i`m expecting their next Game

HIT THAT ACQUISITION BUTTON That`s so fantastic to hear!

Ember Lab appears the typical Sony purchase

Great news! , loved the game and definitely looking forward for whats next for Ember Lab

Sony acquiring them confirmed! You know what to do, Hermen.
