Very interesting! A super high end headset that sellsJanuary 21, 2021, 5:09 pm Very interesting! A super high end headset that sells 180k units a year would be a terrible waste IMO. But a sub $1k headset that has M1 and can play most PCVR games would be awesome! I think it`s so they can at least partially monetize and get user data on the roadmap to the real product. AR is REALLY hard and expensive. I`m skeptical we will see anything mainstream for 5 or so years. Meanwhile I`ll be rocking VR for all its worth! I feel like the apple store lacks substance when it comes to games. but maybe that`s needed? IDK only time will tell. I can with certainty speculate that it will be north of $1500 whatever the case since you have to pay extra for the name. Not sure about the best qualifier when it comes to the iPhone as a gaming device. In which subcategorie? My only fear there would be that they sell $1000+ phones and still use child labour for profits. Think what they would have to do for a budget option. Probably grow them in DNA tanks. let me connect my magic mouse and access my creative cloud and I would be happy. I imagine it will be more tailored toward productivity and less gaming I`m sure it will be fine. I can just assume they will require an iCloud account, which is also okay, as long as I don`t have to input my password every time I download an app. curious about what their offerings would look like. I can only play so much angry birds And you will be forced to a single user locked in by their iCloud account. sounds familiar. But this will still be super niche. But how many people will work in vr? Alot of us aren`t all computer hackers or work on computers believe it or not. They would be best to focus on immersive vr gaming and media first. I know this is Apple but this is way different then anything they`ve done successfully so far. I highly doubt their hmd is under 1500 bucks but we will see. Lots of questions. Like whats the controllers like hows tracking work? Games support will it work with pc/mac? Excited to see how this shakes out. Yeah most people aren`t buying their smartphone outright tho. Comparing vr to the utility of a smartphone is future talk and so is it being a necessity. We are years out from this. I know they make really cool tech but I`m curious to see how this plays out for them. I dont see the future of vr being over priced limited userbase headsets. To see more games the quality level of HLA we need numbers. Big impressive polished full experience games require big budgets. I`m also skeptical of their first vr device as it seems its not easy. Totally agree on cost effective vr is the future. Still interested in what Apple is working on and I dont own any Apple products. That`s sort of what I mean though. They can get away it for sure. In my mind the important part is that it`s standalone. I don`t think it would be a waste, it`s essentially Valve`s philosophy with Index- set expectations for quality high now with the intention of scaling down later. |
