Take this for what it`s worth: I would be switching full-time to a Pixel if it wasn`t for iMessage.
For me its the many Apple only apps like DEVONthink, Things and Shortcut.
Some people don`t know that "Green bubbles" is actually Apple`s decision not Android`s fault. Apple decided to make text messages coming from an Android phone look green on iPhones so that immature people get to hate their friends for texting with an Android phone. Smart strategy

Theres a ton of other messengers, I dont believe people who say they dont switch cos of iMessage or FaceTime for a second as an iPhone user myself. You just dont want to, stop pretending, if there was a wish not a single app/subscription would stop you
My Pixel 3 died this weekend (because of the awful German COVID pass app) and every store I went to was out of Pixels so got a temporary iPhone. I hate it and I havent touched iMessage. But since moving I had been just using WhatsApp anyway so
And its not even *that* good, just such a cultural lock-in, hopefully RCS evens the playing field eventually

green bubble shaming outweighs the camera quality? what makes imessage so special to you? i live the effects, but cant remember the last time ive used one the reply feature is buggy at best
This is still the weirdest thing in tech. With so many different ways to communicate, it`s bizarre that a single app has this kind of a hold. Also, do you think if Apple supported RCS, switching would be easy?

Its such an American thing Fortunately in Europe people are more open on this and we all switched to multi-plateform services years ago like WhatsApp, messenger or telegram Smartphones are made to connect people, not to divise like Apple is doing.

Don`t bother... their support is abysmal. They will find any reason they can to deny warranty coverage. They said this scratch was "significant case damage." It`s sad, because support used to be incredible during the PX2 and PX3 days, and I really do love my PX5. it baffles me how important iMessage is to communicate in the US (ironically, communication only available within a single brand) when you know that in the rest of the world nobody even care about iMessage and communicate regardless of the brand phone they use
its less iMessage and more Apple Watch for me.
With so many messaging apps nowadays (with their desktop apps as well), I think that iMessage is no longer a valid argument.

Same here! I could deal with RCS if Apple would support the standard so Ill continue to stay on iOS.
And to think that iMessage was close to happening on Android back in 2013. Apple`s refusal to share imessage data is exactly why you should switch.
