Samsung`s new Galaxy Tab 2014 might dual-boot Android and Windows RTOctober 9, 2013, 2:26 pm We heard a few days ago that Microsoft, in an effort to expand its Windows Phone platform, is negotiating with HTC the possibility of a new HTC smartphone that dual-boots Android and the Windows Phone OS. Now it seems that the software giant eyes similar deals with Samsung and Huawei, and more importantly it may be offering to pay the companies to get the Windows Phone OS on their devices!. As Eldar Murtazin, a Russian tech journalist, reports, Samsung will release a new Galaxy Tab 3 in 2014 that will dual-boot Android and Windows RT.According to Murtazin Samsung is reportedly considering a dual-booting smartphone as well, though it hasnt made a final decision yet. A dual-booting smartphone by a major manufacturer like Samsung or HTC, could indeed get Windows Phone into more hands and therefore gain user recognition for Microsoft, capitalizing on Androids success. It seems that Microsoft one more time is running behind the competition trying to gain invaluable market share realizing that the future belongs to mobile platforms and devices.It all reminds us (quite a lot actually) the browser wars of the past, where Microsoft actually managed to prevail in the end with its Internet Explorer, even after coming late to the internet party... |
