Pegatron expected to build 50 percent of all iPhone 6 unitsJanuary 14, 2014, 3:28 pm An other day an other iPhone rumor, as it seems. The rumor mill`s favorite subject is nothing else than Apple products and in particular the iPhone range. The latest rumor regarding the next iteration of the venerable gadget, wants Pegatron building at least half of the total number of the iPhone 6, which will also be larger than the current one...As Taiwanese news outlet The Liberty Times reports, Apple is to commission Pegatron to build half of the iPhone 6 orders. The report claims Apple has chosen Pegatron since it is able to deliver high production numbers after completing a new manufacturer plant. Apple has had a traditional manufacturing partnership with Foxconn, but the company now wants to diversify its supply line and to be able to have more iPhones built at any given moment, given the massive success of the iPhone 5s and 5c. The report also claims the next iPhone will be larger, thinner and lighter.Apparently the iPhone 6`s display will be a 5-inch affair, but the report gives away no further information about other specs of the future device. |
