Microsoft to launch next Windows, code-named "Threshold" in 2015, according to reportJanuary 14, 2014, 5:21 pm Never to rest on its laurels, Microsoft is continuing its efforts not to dominate, but this time, save what it can from its traditional market share of Operating Systems. After the recent release of the Windows 8.1, the company is now reportedly set to preview its next Windows OS, code-named Threshold with a possible 2015 release. According to a report by The SuperSite for Windows, Microsoft will provide a "vision" for its next Windows version at the company`s Build conference in April. There is not much info released at this point as to where exactly Microsoft is taking Windows with the Threshold, but we do know that there will be an emphasis on cross-platform unity. The report says the next Windows currently known as Threshold, will be called the Windows 9 and will feature a refined interface, better-suited to desktop use. While it is possible Microsoft will review Threshold at Build in April, the company will start work on the next Windows version after Build. So no sneak-previews I`m afraid at this point folks! Microsoft will be probably releasing the Threshold, Windows 9 or whatever will finally be called its next generation OS, in April 2015. |
