Making an android appJanuary 23, 2021, 12:48 pm Making an android app. What language tho? Languages I kinda remember: Python Java AHK (haha) C++ (vaguely) Is Kotlin any good? Looks fun Will it let me buy all the PS5s before everyone else? I found that developing apps in Java wasn`t too difficult coming from C++, the biggest hurdle was learning about all the Android libraries and activities. By the looks of it, Kotlin has some cool features and is interoperable with Java, so I`d probably choose that. C++ for the masochist in you I think I could write a whole application in C++ tomorrow and still `vaguely` know it Definitely Kotlin but Id also recommend looking at React Native which would also let you build for iOS. I`ve just got back into native Android development myself. As someone that used to develop apps using Java, Kotlin has been nice and easy to pick up. So long as you get on with Android Studio, I`d definitely recommend it. If you know Java, probably Kotlin is the easiest way to get started I hear Kotlin is very similar to scala and Java. Newly developed apps are usually made in Kotlin. Xamarin (C) in Visual Studio would be my recommendation. I think English or Spanish would be good |
