LG`s "pocket-size" G-Pad 8.3, revealedSeptember 2, 2013, 2:28 pm LG has revealed its new G-Pad 8.3, just a little ahead of IFA. The G Pad is positioned as the next step up from the G2 smartphone, and LG claims it`s the world`s first eight-inch tablet with a high resolution screen of full HD 1920 x 1200 WUXGA (Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array). The device comes with a 4,600mAh battery and runs Jelly Bean 4.2.2. On the processor front, there is a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, augmented by 2GB of RAM. The G-Pad 8.3 manages, despite all that, to be just 8.33m thick and to weight 338 grams. LG`s software enhancements include QPair and QSlide; QPair allowing you to receive messages and calls from JB-equipped Android phones on the G Pad itself, while QSlide allows for three apps to run on-screen at once. Moreover, with KnockOn you simply tap the G Pad`s screen twice to wake it up. The G Pad 8.3 will be available around the globe sometime in 2013`s Q4 in a color choice of black or white with 16 GB of storage. There is no information on pricing just yet, but we expect it to be fairly competitive. |
