Just saw the email from u of u toAugust 14, 2021, 1:31 am Just saw the email from u of u to season ticket holders on new Electronic ticket system. They don`t even have a downloadable app. You have to go to a website. How is that possibly going to work with 51,000 fans trying to get on the internet? Epic disaster in the making. Nope, I went Nerd instead of Jock, lol. Tons of people use this basic technology on the daily Thanks, Tom. We will be getting the word out in different ways over next couple weeks, to follow up that letter. And keep encouraging people to call those fine folks you mentioned in the ticket office, so theres no confusion or panic. Well get there! Sounds like Garth Brooks 2.0 Play? I didnt grow up in Utah. I like the digital tickets but was surprised they didnt show up on the Ticketmaster app. Doing the same as I do with airline tickets and snapshotting each as a backup in case Internet is slow (likely). That suggestion was part of the email from the U I got, btw. I work in IT. Feel free to DM me with any questions, happy to help. I think the main reason they were bad is because they didnt have any type of crowd control outside the stadium. Its got lots of entrances and they should have spread people out all around the outside. And trax was screwed up because of the fire. You accused a University of robbing its community of $$$,$$$$ in football game value due to a system you proclaimed faulty. Drop the if you arent going to offer reasonable opinions. Or stand behind them and tell me Im wrong. But dont play the ageism card. You literally just proved my point. About you go away? Well we will use my iPhone but I would like to think theres some sort of option for extremely loyal and longtime fans It was introduced in iOS 8, so as long as you have your phone updated past that version you should have it. Btw, it already worked for the Garth Brooks concert. Adapt. We will all have to continually learn new things as we go. There was a time when I hadnt used those either. If you dont own a smart phone at this point you are out of luck for many things. I bought an android smart phone at Smiths for $15 a few months go. The barrier to entry is very low. Don`t tease me, Tom. I`m very vulnerable right now. Screenshots. Or the website can build in access to put it in your Apple wallet. A screenshot of the tickets will also work , that people can do weeks ahead Tom my Dad does not own a phone. Not a smart phone, not a cell phone, nada. He has also been a season ticket holder for at least 20+ years. Hes logical and understands the reason for going electronic but Im pretty annoyed for him. You will not have to upgrade your phone. You can print the tickets if you cant download them onto either your home screen or into your notes or into your photos. These institutions would not have gone to digital if there was not a workaround. Check with the Utah ticket office. I`m willing to bet there`s a way around this. If you don`t want to pay for my drink (I don`t blame you), just call the ticketing office and I bet they`ll help you out. Or to get silly coupons. . . You shouldnt be. They should give you an option. I was under her impression that it would also work with the Ticketmaster app I had to upgrade my phone, it was a 6S because Of what said. Apple is not going to update it anymore. I spent about $300 and upgraded to an 11. You can download your ticket to the apple wallet app. I had never used them and it took me 4 minutes to download and access them. And thats with me being completely oblivious to how they worked beforehand Call The ticket office Im sure they will help you. Utah is not the first and will not be the last institution to adopt this Well and to get software and security updates . Apps will stop working as they stop supporting iOS 12 when iOS 15 comes out next month(ish) Lol at old guy telling University their electronic system wont work. Go away Im seriously just as confused! I like paper tickets. Open up a browser on your phone to and login. Download them to your Google pay or Apple pay. We`re all good. The app did not contain the tickets last year. There is a way to print the digital tickets before you come to the game at least through UVAs system. I believe UVA included a landing page that explains how to do this and Im sure Utah will as well less contact and saves money The email said to download ticket to your phone prior to game. I don`t know exactly how that works for Android users but Apple has the wallet Happening at many many institutions including University of Virginia and Notre Dame. UVA did this at basketball prior to Covid and worked just fine Move the tickets to your wallet the day before, not internet needed. This will work if people pay attention. Have you been to a concert??? |
