In the Android world we`ve been doing rootless (we call it systemless) modding since 2017. I personally really hate the idea of modifying supposed-to-be-read-only partitions. I`m obsessed with applying changes at runtime

why are some partitions read only? (why is Android system partition read only? it wasn`t back then and it was working good from my point of view...) can someone explain it to me?

Been having an issue while installing Magisk on Android 12 - will Android 12 support be officially added? Also I think you need to disable verified boot somehow but that`s not in your current Installation guide.

Yeah, this is also one of the reasons I like Magisk, the module system allow to modify system files without modifying the system partition, meaning it both allow to change file on read only partition, and also made very easy to restore original system files.

Lol yeah, we`ve had verity for years now

Holy shit, didnt expect you to quote me! Ive used Magisk plenty of times. Thank you for it, by the way!

god bless magisk android for life

I`m glad that change kicked in. It`s going to keep the system safe and it definitely wont stop jailbreakers, if it`s going to be anything like systemless root (and later on Magisk) then it`s for the better of both worlds, without compromises.

I bet if they start systemless, Someone gonna call their next jailbreak MagiOS aight I`ll head out with my corny jokes.

Systemless is the only way I`ve ever done rooting and I can`t imagine doing it any other way if I`m honest.
