I remember using the Galaxy S2 in 2012 andJanuary 19, 2021, 11:22 am I remember using the Galaxy S2 in 2012 and thinking the 4.3" screen was huge, the 800x480 resolution was so sharp I could barely see any pixels on it, the phone was so responsive I could barely notice any lag and the camera was almost like a real DSLR Android before 2016 were hot mess... Switched to this from an iPhone. After one year it started to fail in every case. So I went back to Apple and never changed I used Galaxy S Advance in 2013 which was a stripped down version of S2 and my impressions were also the same. Motorola Milestone, - was the nicest phone I`ve ever held in my hands I remember the same. And then.. I remember that it became laggy and buggy in a year . My very first smartphone was the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. I loved that thing. I wish I still had it. It was seldom the best at anything, but it did EVERYTHING I ever asked it to. And rooting that thing was so damn fun back in the day. Android has lost a lot of its old DIY charm. The one I saw was super unstable. Random crashes, lags and reboots all the time. It`s amazing how quickly we went from "every device in this category is MAGIC" to "meh. The new one is only a 0.03% improvement on last year`s, so not gonna bother". Man, that kicked in a lot faster than it seems like it should have. It was a good phone, I turned it on a few days ago, still fully functional and pretty responsive. But my S4 was miles better, it had all the features you don`t get anymore. A ton of sensors for everything, rotation of the phone according to my head orientation, air gestures... One of the all times greats! But biggest drawback for me was cheap plastics that eventually led to camera lense being scratched to a point where pictures were so blurry it was unusable and I had to take pictures with selfie canera instead. That was the point that made me switch. God every time I see photos of old Android versions I can totally see why Apple people wouldn`t like it. To be fair, old iOS was also ugly, but not as bad as old Android. for us, the quality of the Galaxy S3 was almost mythical... you only heard legends of how good it was. It didn`t disappoint when I finally saw it up close Yea, I remember. I was going to purchase Nokia phone back then, but guy at the operator told me to wait. "You have to buy Galaxy S2, it has great dual core processor!" I waited and bought it.. Those were the days. Haha The RGB (not-pentile) AMOLED patterns may contribute to the "sharp text" feeling. This is one of the very few phones who has it. I remembered when this was such a big deal. "Super Amoled Plus", "Blazing Fast Dual Core processor", "8.0 MEGAPIXELS". How far have we came... they don`t make phones like they used to anymore.. I remember thinking the Holo interface on my Nexus 4 was the peak of design. Switched from an iPhone 4s to the Galaxy Note II. Those 5,5 inches felt like a CINEMA. Same feelings, but with the LG Optimus 3D. I remember flashing an Android Lollipop ROM onto one of those. Great times, truly. The pattern on the back felt so great! My first Android device was a galaxy s3 and it was a lag fest. Almost made me give up on Android immediately. That happened to me with the S4. I thought phones had peaked with that device It was my first "real" smartphone back in the day. we have truly innovated to the point where you get better stuff on 50 phones which is pretty amazing if you ask me |
