Whenever anyone asks me whats the point of buying an Apple TV when a perfectly good Android Smart TV exists, I will show them this comparison. The first picture is HDR processing by the Apple TV app on the OnePlus TV U1S. The second one is Apple TV 4K HDR processing.
Apple TV is just a great device, use it all the time, never found anything to complain about, not sure why all the hate about it?

Well this is definitely the most valid reason to spend SO much more on an Apple TV over others, besides this it just doesn`t make sense to me. Definitely noted though and I might have to check it out sometime.

so the performance difference is same in, say other apps like Netflix? can you please try comparing Hdr performance in other platform? may be it`s just the optimisation issue? not sure. I never owned or experienced apple tv

I completely agree with both of you, found it difficult to set up a FTP SERVER WITH APPLE TV rather it was so easy with Android TV set aside the cons like Atmos support for 3rd party apps and customisability,hands down apple tv gives the best HDR& image processing
Atmos passthrough still disabled for 3rd party apps (like Plex and Infuse)
How is the difference in other apps like Netflix/Prime between the apple TV and their native versions on LG OLEDs? I`m not sure if this is worth the money and additional HDMI slot if we just get better HDR on Apple TV+ app.
Agreed, I use firestick 4k on our mi 4k qled tv (The 75in one you reviewed) and native apps suck big time. The one I wanna buy next is nvidia shield TV, mostly because I love android over apple products.

the difference seems to be much more visible on comparatively cheaper TVs because it`s not this bad on my LG OLED but still can confirm even SDR/HDR content looks miles better on my Apple TV 4K. the bitrates are great and video can be controlled way better too.
Apple is all about ecosystems, they will do their best to show their superiority even when their is None, in this case they cripple their app on other platforms, a better comparison would be netflix on a 4k hdr TV from Samsung or LG vs 4k hdr from netflix on apple tv

As well as processing differences, the TV app on third-party platforms receives a significantly lower bitrate stream, its like half the megabits compared to what the box gets.
