I can`t wait to hear from those who currentlyJanuary 15, 2021, 11:38 pm I can`t wait to hear from those who currently think devices with foldable/dual displays are dumb suddenly shift positions when this happens. I`ll tee it up for you: "Yeah, but Apple did it right!" Sarcasm aside, this is the future of mobile tech. I still dont see it for the typical user. Though Im not fool enough to say never. "Did it right" is mature technology. Same people say Apple is innovative. Technology can not simultaneously be mature and innovative. I prefer innovative. I have no cognitive dissonance that my Surface Duo is not mature tech. I held off cause of no 5G and a lackluster camera. Kinda doubting it`ll come with a great camera. 5G is expected... Hopefully lol. Is it? Still trying to understand its place in the market. iPhone user here and a foldable phone, Apple or not, seems stupid. Thanks. Reading now. Any idea what the Duo v.2 is going to look line spec-wise? Love concept of Duo, but too many compromises for flagship phone. Ecosystems make it very hard to switch platforms. I cant give up all of the services (iMessage, FmF, Fitness, AirDrop) that tie me to Apple. Apple will eventually make it right though. Just because they never jump on the bandwagon. Always wait till tech matures, they have nothing to prove. They can afford to wait. Itll be just as dumb when Apple do it dont see the need for phones that big and the fold is just asking to be broken. I still dont see the point of 2 size displays arent phones big enough anyway its a pointless niche thing Not apple too! I dont see the point of a foldable phone it just seems like it will break easy how many years did this get posted on every single android phone released comments section as to why big screens are stupid and why apple will NEVER make one until the 6 came out ans everyone was suddenly Very true. But they do tend to be major risk averse. Upsetting people over USB ports is different from upsetting people over broken folding screens - and far less costly. I love the idea of foldable phones - but I don`t trust that idea yet. Apple may not change that. Interesting thing about Apple pursuing it is if they release one, they will think the tech is there. They don`t tend to push things that aren`t ready to work well. Samsung and others are more prone to experiment and risk a fail - Apple not so much. Weve been down this road before when people made fun of the HTC Titans and 1520s for being too big for a phone. Then we got the max line of iPhones. My Duo agrees. Never, ever going back. Ever. |
