i ain`t saying Chinese brands don`t copy Apple --November 27, 2021, 3:42 pm i ain`t saying Chinese brands don`t copy Apple -- they do -- but it bothers me how, as soon as a Chinese brand do it, even if it`s SLIGHT, English phone writers get all snarky, and the word "copy"/"clone" is in every headline. Meanwhile, Google out here stealing iOS`s homework We all on this thread knows when it comes to software innovation no brand comes close to Samsung,so let`s not waste time. There are 100 other things like picture in picture and widgets which iOS has copied from Android, maybe Google can copy something atleast ! The Nokia 808 was doing pixel binning on a 41mpx 1/1.2" in 2012, which was so large that it didn`t need a dedicated night mode to take usable night photos The small screen in the corner?? That`s actually good my cheap realme 5i has this . and i can shift the one handed mode, both ways. Samsung had one-handed mode since 2013 The actuall breakthrough with the Chinese phone is I think is what Oppo did a few years ago, I think they are great with innovation, like fast charging, rotating camera, skylight notification and few years ago they always create a good phone design, Apple say this feature as a "reachability" and I think it`s kinda make sense, because it`s supposed to make reach the top of the phone easily, but Google use this feature as a "one hand mode" which kind a weird, Problem is that Google both does it less and better Off topic but i prefer Samsung`s one hand mode feature more than this apple/google one. Samsung one is more convenient to use. Most of Google`s pixel features are copied from other OEM`s mainly Samsung and Apple. Google phones used to have 0 special features except HDR +. They did do the half screen thing better than iso imo. In iOS it goes back to full screen every time you touch the display. They all copy each other Didn`t ios steal this from OneUI? Yes, they do a much better job, Apple and Google`s one handed mode just brings down the content and one can`t reach the other side also add HDR ULTRAWIDE CAMERA How is Google stealing that when apple literally uses widgets?!? Samsung also have it..well its not in the ui.. u have to download their app (one hand operation +) ..it works the same as IOS and google Huawei was so far ahead in this area. One of the many reasons I loved to use their phones until I was no longer allowed to! and ios stole it from oneui If huawei didn`t have the ban, they would be a couple of years a head of the rest. I dont understand the point of minimizing the app like that on iPhone. I sometimes do it by accident, The first time it happened I thought it was a software bug. Its easily the most useless feature in iPhones Yeah huawai was true innovator I wouldnt say using larger sensor is a breakthrough idea. Smartphones were increasing sensor size steadily. Yup. All they cling to is bad notions about China. Let`s not even start with all the sinophobia when covid first appeared. I mean every country has problems but when people start to talk about China, especially the west its always negative stuff. Why cant people just get along. This is sadly true. Every western seem to think that Chinese brands can only copy or "clone" Apple. Everybody is so fucking blind to all the innovation done by Chinese brands. iPhones are boring af, only chinese brands and samsung is doing something new and exciting now. 100% agree, whats frustrating is in many cases they choose to copy, despite having the talent to do otherwise. Huawei P20/P20 Pro: 1st Triple Camera 1st 3x Optical Zoom 1st 40 MP 1st Pixel-bining technology 1st Ultra High ISO (102400) 1st Night Mode 1st AI Mode 1st High Resolution selfie cam 1st Color temperature sensor 1st Gradient Color Huawei is so innovative. Also its foldable phone Mate X2 has 0 gap when folded. Now Huawei will introduce a new smartwatch with blood pressure sensor. Damn US ban. I just hope Huawei will survive. It isn`t copy I would say. If we consider it as a better feature, then we can say it as "Inspirational Material". iOS` system are doing great humorous things that Android haven`t. Google had a genuine night mode before anyone else. Huawei did better a year or two later. Pixel binning and large sensors are hardly new ideas, see Nokia PureView for an example. I agree Chinese innovation doesnt get the respect it deserves, but beware overstating the case. How dare you question apple & Google & even say they are copying Huawei and also, no one said nothing about all the camera hardware breakthrough Apple, Google, Samsung introduced last year were done by Huawei first in like 2018. - using larger sensors - pixel binning - night mode - periscope zoom |
