Huawei releases new Ascend Mate 2 phablet, with iPhone charging massive 4050mAh battery!

One after the other, most of the rumors regarding new releases of hi-tech products we heard the last few weeks prove right at the 2014 CES in Las Vegas. The latest manufacturer to prove such a rumor right is Huawei, which has just announced its next generation phablet, the Ascend Mate 2.
The new phablet shares a lot of design touches with its predecessor, the Ascend Mate. The new phone actually uses the same 6.1-inch screen with the same 720p resolution but internally there are some major spec changes.
The device now features a 1.6GHz quad-core processor and a 13-megapixel Sony BSI camera sensor along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. There is also Bluetooth 4 and 16GB of built-in storage, expandable through microSD cards.
The Ascend Mate 2 runs on Android 4.3 with a layer of Huawei`s own Emotion UI on top.
What made many heads turn though at 2014 CES, is that the new massive 4050mAh battery that can power the device for a full 2 days. But that`s not all: apparently you can connect an other smartphone to that battery and charge it, while Huawei itself demonstrated charging an iPhone with the Ascend Mate 2 battery!
There is no pricing or availability info at this point, but we expect the new Ascend Mate 2 to start rolling out later in 2014 Q1.
