No it`s not like that. As software progresses they get power hungry. It`s true that Apple did it and also paid the fine for the same but in order to keep the device running it is controlled by some software settings(updates) to prevent from over heating (throttling).
Only thing which preventing me to shift to android is I dont feel secure in android

There is a way Nitin ji. Several paid 3rd party softwares available to transfer whatsapp backup on Drive to iCloud and can use old whatsapp backup. I did this when I shifted from Android to ios. But I am now back to Android as no call recorder in ios & all ur mentioned reasons.

Google Maps I personally have very bad experience. Many times it has given me incorrect route and instead of diverting me towards highway google map drag me into city road which caused delayed.
