Flick Home Run ! New FreeApril 29, 2012, 8:00 pm Flick Home Run ! New Free Rating:2 out of 5 Price: Free Device Review on: iPad Lisisoft Link: http://appfinder.lisisoft.com/app/flick-home-run-!-new-free.htmlReviewer: Tony Flick HomeRun! New Free offers a virtual finger baseball batting experience. Balls come towards you in various throws and your goal is to hit as far as possible thus gathering points and the satisfaction of virtual home runs. If you manage to hit the ball high and far enough, youll likely get some extra points by popping balloons or hitting other various targets. Generally this type of game play is a familiar theme and falls in the category of potentially addictive. The game-play is easy to figure out and wont be long before your hitting the ball outside the pitch. When it comes to my personal impression, I felt that the game was lacking a bit in variety and didn`t really bring something new. For sure my non-existent baseball background doesn`t help but I have the impression that there is still something missing from the game itself. After a brief time playing I decided that the game had outworn my limited attention span and moved on to something more entertaining. Flick HomeRun is mainly designed for handheld devices so reviewing on an iPad a bit of an overkill. The free version is pretty limited as there are only 6-7 types of throws, which seem to repeat also in order of appearance. Another unfortunate restriction is the free version`s 700ft limit which kind of takes away the joy of hitting the ball . On the other hand, a competitive element can be found in the high scores which you can thrive to break. To conclude, if you are a baseball fan then you may find more to the game than I did but you might want to give the free version a shot first. The full version promises more levels and bonuses, the fun of watching the ball go further and hitting various obstacles but again, I would personally be reluctant to purchase it. |
