BMW`s first-ever all-electric vehicle is a reality. But besides the "normal" version of the electro-car, there`s an extended range of options.
The base unit will cost $41,350 in the United States. If you are willing to spend an additional $3,950, you can get the new i3 equipped with a two-cylinder engine, doubling in effect the car`s range.
While that option is not exactly cheap (just like the car itself we might add...) the extended driving range it provides could worth the expense.
Interestingly, the motor in question functions as a generator, charging the battery on-board the vehicle after it reaches a threshold level.
