As @backlon has pointed out, it`s pretty interesting that
As has pointed out, its pretty interesting that Apple has adopted an Android-style back button for tvOS, and doubly interesting that it is the one of the most important buttons in the entire interface

btw I`m sure there are a lot of people who didn`t find volume controls on the iPhone ATV remote app

maybe it doesnt mean nothing.

Its funny how the MENU button goes all the way back to the original iPod, but its always meant back

Maybe because people never grasped the concept of the Menu Button as a way to return to the previous menu. I always have to explain this to my parents when they try to use the Siri Remote.

So is every remote implementation (virtual or real) going to have a different button layout? This sure is "fun"

Meanwhile Android has been trying to get rid of the back button entirely and replace it with a swipe gesture.

Technically...the menu button always worked like that...they just modified iconography. That said I did always like Android`s back button, but a well developed app would let you swipe back.

That`s cause android got it right. Even iOS has a back button, it`s just more complicated to access (either at the top of the apps, swipe from left to right border or even home button in some cases)

Whats more interesting is that they called this back button Menu for years without it summoning any menus. It just goes back. I swear theres some kind of disconnect between that Siri remote team and everyone else at Apple.

What exactly does Ch up/down do? Channel up/down? Where are there channels? Does it change the channel in the app?

Apple realizing that their current UX architecture is not going in the right direction ? Where Android has become easier to use, Apple is cluttering the UX input with complex and confusing actions.

To be fair, if it werent something in Android, wed be calling it an iOS-style back button, which is already one of the most important buttons in the entire interface and exists in every single app.

the menu holdover from the iPod never really made sense
