Apple rumored to be testing flexible displays for its "iWatch"!October 2, 2013, 5:05 pm If finally Apple releases an "iWatch" this might come with a flexible display.Given the long-rumored, almost mythical, iWatch turns out to be a real product it could feature an OLED flexible screen... Apple has recently brought to Cupertino Nike`s FuelBand developer Jay Blahnik, and this seems to be a significant move towards the development of the "iWatch".Korean site Chosun Ilbo reports that Apple is testing multiple versions of a bendable screen for its first smartwatch. Chosun Ilbo says its anonymous industry sources reveal that Apple is developing a flexible OLED display that could be used in the iWatch design.Apparently three different screen sizes are tested measuring, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 inches. Apple seems to prefer the largest version, and may already have a prototype of the device! Samsung`s Galaxy Gear smartwatch was the first wearable high-tech device released by a major manufacturer but has had lukewarm response from the consumers till now and already Samsung seems to be prepping its successor. If Apple learns something from its Korean rival, that might be not to release a half-baked device, curvy-screened or not... |
