A superb readOctober 23, 2021, 12:52 pm A superb read. Its been TWENTY YEARS since the iPod and (for me) iTunes. And when people ask me why Im Apple, and not Android - this is why. I think the best thing about apple products for me (after the ecosystem) is just how reliable they are. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, Ive gotten way more time out of my macs, iPods and iPhones than their competitors. When you remember how quickly Microsoft dropped.. That is exactly my story, the iPod started my love for Apple products. Had an iPod Touch back in the day. The device was very good, but I thought iTunes was just incredibly bad software. Never went back. It ruined the mp3 industry single handed. I`m the reverse. My first experience of itunes was that it rearranged all my music and screwed a decade of curation. Never again. I still use my iPod nano. Love that click wheel and interface Think you just need to open your eyes Geoff and see beyond the walled garden that Apple want you to see. fully agree got a Mac pad and phone and had many other apple products before and I can honestly say not one of them has ever let me down I was Apple up until the iPhone 4. I was unable to put any music on the device as it could not be recognised by any PC I plugged it in to. Tried 6 computers with iTunes on it to no avail. Apple no help saying it must be all 6 computers at fault... I swapped to Android after that. buying songs on itunes is something i love doing for the charts I, for one, would like to hear your opinion 20 years from now, when the Steve Jobs efect will (probably) get weaker My sixth gen iPod is still working fine. As for why Im still with Apple, Ive worked with AOSP on new android devices so I wouldnt use Android on my phone. And Ive developed on and witb Linux since the mid 90s so use a proper finished Unix machine, a Mac. Still have two iPod Classics, Ill be devastated when they finally die. Battery lasts for about a week without charge and built like a Nokia 3330. One of my gen 1 nanos is still fully working- long flat and the charger is nowhere to be seen, but with a little charge it`ll boot right up for sure. The other got killed because it`s so small I forgot it was in my pocket before putting my trousers in the wash. You should listen to the Land of the Giants podcasts. The current series is about Apple. Still cant believe people are paying 10 a month for things like . That 120 a year buys you at least 120 music downloads on iTunes that you get to keep. Ad-free forever without any subscription. From one Apple fan boy to another, they are untouchable And you got 50p from me too!! And that`s exact same reason why I`m Android. I like to drag and drop straight onto my phone Still use my 7th gen Nano most days. Can`t beat it for running. Cos its the best if you use pc tablet phone from apple and set up on same account Still remember you begging 50p from strangers to pay for it! |
