$200 credit offered for used iPads, by Microsoft!September 13, 2013, 12:56 pm As we enter the post-PC era, Microsoft sees clearly that the future lies in mobile/portable platforms and smartphones. After buying out Nokia`s mobile services, as we reported a few days ago, it now tries to convert the Apple`s faithful and bring them to its own Surface RT platform using a new, quite controversial idea! The company`s new recycle-for-reward initiative this time doesn`t target one of the devices it builds itself, but rather it focuses on its rival`s baby: the, apparently much hated, Apple iPad! The US trade-in program offers at least $200 in exchange for a "gently used" iPad 2, 3 or 4. Microsoft`s CEO Ballmer, even if o utgoing at the moment, is hoping you`ll find the project helpful and that you`ll been wanting to buy Microsoft`s tablets from now on. In particular it seems that the Surface tablets are the main point of focus, since they have a prominent placement on the program`s page. The trade-in scheme will run until October 27th, and will be very interesting to see how many people will decide to ditch their beloved iPads for a new shiny Microsoft Surface RT tablet! |
